I'm visitng Sonia in 2011. She was living with her aunt, the lady who is speaking in the video. The other person who is speaking, is Gabrielle, the CI translator.

Sonia and Yiseth in 2011

This video of Sonia and Yiseth is one of my faves that I took on the last trip because you can see their distinct personalities. Yiseth on the right is much more talkative and Sonia is more reserved. I hope that I will be able to see Sonia although she is no longer in the CI program due to family issues.(Nov. 2012) When she wrote me her last letter, she mentioned that she felt like her sponsor was the only one who really cared about her. I hope that she is doing well and I hope that she will be able to come to the CI center so that we can visit one more time. I have sponsored both girls since they were 5 years old.

Visiting Francisco's Home in 2011

This video is one taken on the 2011 trip. It shows Francisco's auntie holding his little baby sister, Valentin, and other cousins, friends. Part of the home that is on the right has been rebuilt with funds from sponsors. I am hoping to be able to visit the new room that was constructed on this next visit. Francisco also has another baby sister to meet. Right now the family is in limbo because of possible issues of neglect so I am hoping things will be settled  by then, that I will be able to see him, and that he will continue to receive help from CI.

Vaccines/Goody Bags

Vaccinations are set for third week in June :)  Now, to see about getting some goody bags ready for the siblings of the kids. I don't plan to take as much as I did on the last trip but I want to make sure that every sibling gets a little something. Here is a video I found of Francisco with is older sister, Evelyn, that I took on the last trip. Evelyn, who is sponsored by another sponsor, is not very happy because she is usually the one who is the one receiving a sponsor visit. Francisco looks happy with his little dance!
